Guest Relations

Arriving back at the hotel every evening one is usually intercepted by one our “Guest Relations Executives” – delightful ladies in blue silk saris whose job it is to ensure that our stay is a pleasant one.

As a result I’ve been introduced to various hotel managers and filled in some questionnaire about my tastes. Not sure if they can get hold of Jameson 12 Year Old Irish Whiskey over here – but when they ask your favourite drink then an honest answer is called for.

Probably the best time was when one escorted me to my evening meal. There I got introduced to the Senior Sous Chef – who cooked me a chicken tikka dish. I was then shown how to eat dhal Indian style with bread – as well as taught correct pronunciation of Hindi names – mustn’t roll the “r” I’m told.

All part of my education I guess.
